Tyrell CCT Appointed as EditShare Channel Partner
29 Jul 2010
Tyrell CCT, provider of digital media solutions in the UK and Ireland, has announced that the company has been appointed as an authorised channel partner for Editshare, the technology leader in cross platform collaborative editing and shared media storage systems. The partnership has already secured a key customer win with PricewaterhouseCoopers, (PwC), a leading professional services firm.

The solution is used by PwC’s video production department for the production of internal and external corporate communications. To facilitate the move to tapeless production PwC invested in an Editshare Xtreme storage system combined with the Flow family of products. This complete solution centralises the storage requirement for PwC’s studio and editing operations, resulting in greatly enhanced efficiencies by allowing multi-channel ingest of studio recordings direct to the post-production department.

Editshare’s Flow Ingest Server provides maximum flexibility by creating a ‘Universal Media File’ and a browse copy of the same file from any of the four ingest channels simultaneously. PwC was previously heavily reliant on DVCAM tapes being moved from studio to post, with rushes ingested on local storage. The firm now employs an ‘Edit while Capture’ workflow, which considerably accelerates the review of studio takes and instantly allows editing to commence on Editshare’s Flow Browse, or Avid and Final Cut Pro systems.

EditShare products are designed to maximize media sharing and storage for multi-user editing environments. Leveraging the power and cost effectiveness of Gigabit Ethernet, EditShare technology enables users to easily and economically share media and work collaboratively. Avid, Apple, Adobe, Autodesk, Boris FX, Canopus, Digidesign, Media 100, and Sony editors and compositors connected to an EditShare network can seamlessly access in real-time a common pool of media files.

“Tyrell CCT’s solid experience in workflow solutions and collaborative media projects was paramount in our selection of a new Editshare partner,” says Tara Montford, General Manager EditShare EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa). “The company has an excellent reputation in the broadcast, post-production and corporate markets for the supply and service of fully integrated digital media solutions. We are extremely pleased that the partnership has already proved successful with PwC’s adoption of Editshare’s solution and are very optimistic about future opportunities.”

“We are delighted to add Editshare to our esteemed list of creative technology suppliers,” commented Mark Lynn, Sales Director, Tyrell CCT UK. “Editshare provides flexible and scalable solutions for media storage and project sharing across multiple editing platforms. We envisage that Editshare’s product portfolio will provide real value to our complete customer base.”
