On Thursday 26th of August, the Irish Film & Television Academy hosted an In Conversation With... special event with comedy writer Graham Linehan - creator of the much loved Channel 4 television series Father Ted and the IT Crowd.
Attending this exclusive IFTA event were Members of the Irish Film & Television Academy and invited guests including Niall Tobin, Victoria Smurfit, Frank Kelly, Joe Rooney and Paul Young.

TV3 AUTUMN SCHEDULE LAUNCH 20 Aug 2010 |

Among the guests at TV3's autumn schedule launch were stars of TV3 including Bill Cullen, Jackie Lavin, Glenda Gilson, Lisa Cannon, Ray Foley and Matt Cooper. TV3’s schedule has over 150 hours of new home-produced peak-time programming across all genres and the broadcaster reported that home produced programming will increase by 10% to 40%, with a three year aim to exceed 50%.
Highlights of the new additions to the schedule include The Apprentice: At Home; Take Me Out; Cocaine Wars; Come Dine With Me; Farmers: A Life on the Land, Boozed Up Irish Abroad and The Road to Dublin.

IFTA 'IN CONVERSATION WITH... DEARBHLA WALSH' 21 Jul 2010 |

Emmy winning Irish director Dearbhla Walsh was the focus of a special In Conversation With... event recently hosted by the Irish Film & Television Academy. Walsh won a primetime Emmy award in 2009 for her work on the BBC period drama series Little Dorrit and has been nominated for four IFTAs.
With IFTA winning producer Ed Guiney leading the discussion, Ms Walsh discussed Directing for Television with Members of the Academy, sharing her experiences of working in Ireland on her most recent project The Silence and abroad on projects such as Shameless, Eastenders and Little Dorrit. more » |
