John Kelleher was appointed Film Censor in April 2003 following a publicly advertised competition process. Born in Dublin, he graduated with a BCL degree from UCD and a Masters Degree in Drama from the University of Kentucky. He was called to the Bar in 1971. Based on actual events, 'Anton' is an explosive thriller set in 1970's Ireland. When Anton O'Neill returns home after five years at sea, he finds Northern Ireland is in flames, and civil unrest has spilled south of the border to his beloved home in Cavan.  'Anton' is led into a world of violence and is forced to choose between his family and his country.
