The pic, written by Mark O’Halloran, also had success at two French festivals – it picked up the Jury Award in Festival de Chatenay-Malabry, while at the Festival Cinessone (9th-24th November) in scooped the Grand Prix award and the Prix de Etudiants, the latter award being voted for by students.
‘Garage’ is a tragic comedy set in the world of petrol stations, where the owner of a garage in rural Ireland searches for intimacy during the course of a life changing summer.
The second film from the ‘Adam and Paul’ writer/director duo, ‘Garage’ has already picked up the CICAE Award at the Directors Fortnight in Cannes and the Prix Coup De Coeur at The Dinard Film Festival.
‘Garage’ is produced by Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe through Element Films and supported by the Irish Film Board, Film4, RTÉ and the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland.
